Embroidery: Cross Stitch and Hardanger
In addition to my three cross stitch patterns, I'm happy to offer the pattern for my two Hardanger teaching pieces that I developed for my Daughters of Norway classes.
Hardanger Learning Pieces
This pattern includes two small pillows that were used to teach at the Daughters of Norway national convention. The first is beginner level (above in blue) and the second (green) is more advanced. A material list (congress cloth and varying weights of perle cotton) is included in the pattern.

Til Karin - 4 Elements
I designed this piece with the inspiration of Karin Larsson's Elements, woven in 1903. She was certainly ahead of her time. I truly admire her and her legacy of embroidery and woven patterns. How she managed to be so creative, while raising 7 children, doing the sewing of their clothes, cooking and caring for such a large household is amazing. Her original weaving is still on the back of the sofa in their Sundborn house in Sweden. It is stitched on 36 ct "Legacy" linen from Picture this plus and using Gentle Arts threads.

Fjord Ponies
Those of you who have seen or knit my "Fjord Ponies" sweater will see the resemblance with this embroidery. Looking at my own graphs gave me the inspiration to start designing my own embroidery. The pattern is filled out with many Norwegian and European motifs. This one was so fun to design and work! It is done on 36 ct Vintage Maple Sugar linen from Lakeside Linen and Vickie Clayton's hand dyed silks.
