Fjord Ponies

This sampler started out life as a sweater! The Wild Blue Horses sweater featured Norwegian Fjord Ponies and Tree of Life motifs on a background of snowflakes and angels. As these fine-gauge motifs work so well for embroidery, I chose to rework things in that medium. Fjord Ponies sampler is the result.

Stitched with seven shades of Vikki Clayton's Hand-dyed Silks on Vintage Sugar Maple 36 count by Lakeside Linens. These silks have varying availability but a DMC equivalent is suggested. 296 x 296 stitch count.

Pattern Keeper Notes: 

• There is a lot of backstitching that won't show up in the normal mode, but you can see in it the "View PDF" mode.
• Initially the grid won't make sense, because the small chart with the personalization alphabet doesn't fit into the larger rectangle. Watch the video it suggests and remove the alphabet grid. The remainder of the chart will be imported.
